What are, actually, food supplements?
Food supplements are substances we add to our daily nutrition in order to add or supplement for the substances necessary in maintaining proper body function. Usually, those include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates or herbal oils – in short everything necessary for health maintenance. Food supplements are not medications, they are an important aid for achievement of good health. They come in a form of powder, pills, capsules or liquids.
Do we need to take the food supplements?
Most definitely, today our food is vitamin and mineral poor as well as protein deprived and therefore amino acids and vitamins are not formed in the body in necessary quantities. If a person does not consume fruit or vegetables regularly he or she will lack some vitamins or minerals and the body will show a „tell sign“. Usually, the immune system weakens and the body starts to lack sufficient power to fight various diseases caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi.

We should be aware that the antioxidants are important as allies to combat free radicals and oxidative stress that are often culprits to disease occurence. Daily stress has become ubiquitous and its consequences vast. As we cannot avoid it, the best way is to protect our body and mind with superior quality food supplements.
